Love can be found in every corner. Nowadays, online dating sites have become like an indispensable tool for many Kiwi singles who aspire to get involved in a love story, but is the dating game different overseas?

We have carried out a study about how the dating scene works in the United States, and the results show that finding a potential partner is a very relevant, and highly addictive task for American singles.

Dating, one of American’s favourite pastimes

Nowadays, around 44% of Americans are unattached, and the desire of finding the right partner with whom to initiate a long-term relationship has become a priority for many of them.

Nearly 40 million people living in the States are actively involved in the dating scene, whether it is online or offline. That means a substantial 8.1% of the overall population.

In which places can you find the biggest number of single men, and women? New York, Washington, and Idaho State are at the top of the list.

The importance of first impressions

It is commonly said that it only takes up to four minutes to decide if you like someone or not, this is why making a good impression is so important when it comes to dating.

As shown in the infographic, and the following video, Americans take more time to analyze if their date completely suits them, and if there might be a potential future together. There is also a distinction between men, and women.

American singles have countless tricks under their belts to completely seduce their dates, but it seems that making a compliment, among other things, to the other part can really increase the chances to succeed.
